| Gourmet Breakfast at our New Hampshire Bed & Breakfast | |||||||||
Savory entrees may include a Mushroom Sausage and Cheddar Cheese Strata, Baked Cheddar Cheese and Asparagus Omelet, Eggs Benedict on Maple Ham and Chive Biscuits Topped with Cheddar Hollandaise Sauce, or Scrumptious Scramble with Goat Cheese and Chives along side Potato Cakes or Southwestern Hash. Sweet entrees may consist of a Pecan and Wild Maine Blueberry French Toast, a signature breakfast that is also a featured recipe in the Bed and Breakfast Guide for Food Lovers, a Bed and Breakfast Collection by Pamela Lanier (published October 2010 and also available at Barnes and Noble). We also serve “lighter than air” Yeasted Belgian Waffles, or Pancakes of several varieties like Lemon-Scented with Blueberries, Banana-Pecan, Apple-Cinnamon, Blackberry-Cornmeal, Light Oatmeal, or Whole Wheat with Strawberry Sauce. These entrees are served with New Hampshire made maple syrup and either thick-sliced bacon or Paula’s homemade breakfast sausage patties. All of our foods are prepared fresh with local New Hampshire products and we serve award-winning maple syrup purchased from Fullers Sugarhouse in Lancaster, NH. Note that most entrees can be modified for gluten-free, vegan, diabetic, or vegetarian diets. |

| Afternoon Tea | |||||||||
A variety of English teas, hot chocolate (in colder months), or lemonade or iced tea (in warmer months) are served each late afternoon in our Dining Room. Paula will also bake a treat of either Fudgy Chocolate Brownies, Oatmeal White Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Fruit and Nut Cookies, Pecan Shortbreads, Coconut Macaroons, Triple Chocolate Walnut Cookies, Orange Cardamom Madeleines, Pear Pistachio Ginger Blondies, Peanut Butter Chocolate Whoopie Pies, Cold Oven Pound Cake, Coconut Cupcakes with Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting, Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Buttercream Frosting, or German Chocolate Cupcakes, just to name a few. Guests can enjoy their refreshments in either our spacious but cozy Living Room or Mt. Surprise Room warmed by the fireplaces when it’s cold outside. On warmer days, guests like to relax in one of the rockers on the front porch watching the hummingbirds, or sit in an Adirondack chair near the flower gardens taking in our mountain views listening to the birds sing. |
