Our Guests Have Commented ...

After several years of owning The Buttonwood Inn, Bill and I have come to enjoy having guests in our inn more and more each year. We want you to relax and have a great time staying with us. Here are some comments from our guests this past year.

3/28/11       “Thank you so much for your warm hospitality during our Stay! The food was wonderful and we enjoyed the hot tub, movies downstairs, and the piano room! We will recommend The Buttonwood Inn to friends and family!” – Boston, MA

3/20/11       “Thank you for a wonderful weekend! It was great to have such a welcoming, beautiful place to return to while we explored the area, and such delicious breakfasts to start the day. This was the perfect place to celebrate our engagement, and we will remember it fondly.” – Manchester, CT

3/6/11       “As ever, all too short time to enjoy the Buttonwood (our 4th time here). But we did squeeze in an excellent snowshoe up Mt. Surprise before the rains came, and much enjoyed my afternoon nap in the Mt. Surprise Room near a toasty fire. Excellent breakfasts—as usual! The Buttonwood is just such a comfortable place—Thanks!” – Pepperell, MA

2/28/11       “We thoroughly enjoyed your lovely B&B! So warm and inviting, wonderful amenities for a relaxing stay. Breakfasts were so delicious and afternoon treats were yummy! Thank you for your attention to details and all the work you do to make your guests feel at home. We will definitely recommend the Buttonwood Inn to our friends, family, and clients!” – Cape Elizabeth, ME

2/21/11       “What a restful and fun stay we have had here in your beautiful inn. We are already planning our return visit! The food was delicious; your hospitality most generous and kind. It was just the right blend of sociability and privacy—well done! We wish you both the very best in your continued success and we look forward to seeing you again. Thank you!” – Wakefield, MA

2/20/11       “This was the first B&B for both Megan and me, but certainly not the last. We had such a wonderful time. The stay here at Buttonwood really enhanced our trip. I think the best word to describe how we felt would be “comfortable.” You opened your home and hearts and provided us with a memory that will last forever. We will certainly recommend the inn to all of our friends. It was flawless. Thank you again.” – Sudbury, MA

2/20/11       “Thank you for the wonderful stay. We came up for our baby moon and had a great time. Paula is an amazing chef!!” – Plymouth, MA

2/14/11       “We enjoyed our stay at the lovely Buttonwood Inn. Our room was comfortable and charming with beautiful antique furniture. Paula’s breakfasts and the extra goodies were delicious! Thanks for all your hospitality and advice on local restaurants and shopping areas.” – Clinton, CT

2/13/11       “Thank you so much for making our Valentine’s Day weekend lovely! We really appreciate your hospitality and the warmth (and delicious smell) of your home. Those chocolate cupcakes were the best cupcakes we’ve ever had!” – Cambridge, MA

2/13/11       “Your inn is a hidden GEM! We had a wonderful and memorable Valentine’s 2011. THANKS for making it extra special!” – Boston, MA

2/13/11       “Thank you for our wonderful Valentine getaway, the comfort, hospitality, great snowshoe trail, and great food! It will be fondly remembered.” – Saco, ME

1/9/11       “Ryan and I had one of the best weekends at your inn. You both are so warm and hospitable. We felt as though we were home. You made us feel so welcome. Thank you for taking the effort and getting to know us. You were so thoughtful to leave out movies you thought we would like or help us decide on a place to eat. We will definitely be back and will tell our family and friends!” – Melrose, MA

1/3/11       “Thank you for a wonderful stay once again. It is always a treat to be welcomed and taken care of in the way that you do, and to break our lives in the city with the serene beauty of Mt. Washington Valley.” – Lexington, MA

1/3/11       “This is quite a property you have here. We had an amazing stay. Jill and I enjoyed the quiet cozy nature of the inn and surrounding woods. We took a great hike and enjoyed all of Paula’s treats and breakfast spreads. Thanks for making sure our first bed and breakfast experience won’t be our last. Thanks again and hope to be back (maybe fall?).” – Kennebunk, ME

1/2/11       “Thanks for the great hospitality over the New Year’s weekend. The room/service and cooking was beyond Grade A. Have a great 2011!” – Oakland, NJ

1/1/11       “We’ve stayed at a number of B&Bs but none to match this. The hospitality and food were superb! The fireplace adds such a coziness to the room. The New Year’s snacks and champagne were delightful. We appreciated especially that you managed to book reservations at the White Mountain Cider Company. The Thompson House Eatery was superb! We also enjoyed hiking the trail behind the property. We will recommend this special place to friends and hope to find a chance to return!” – Sharon, MA

12/31/10       “hank you for the delicious breakfasts and your hospitality for opening your home to us with a nice comfortable and homey atmosphere. Your B&B is very tastefully decorated, warm and cozy. A job well done! Good luck to both of you.”– Wilmington, MA

12/30/10       “Our 27th wedding anniversary getaway couldn’t have been sweeter, more comfortable, yummier, more pleasant and restful; just right in every way! Thank you both, Bill and Paula, for your warm, gentle hospitality, and for sharing this treasure with us. God bless you and your family with comfort, wonder, and joy!”– Rochester, MA

12/13/10       “Thank you for all you did that contributed to this weekend being a memorable one of R and R and fun! The hike on the Mt. Surprise Trail was beautiful and we’re looking forward to doing more in the future. The tip about the train museum was a real find (to tell future generations!). We loved reading in the living room and the Mt. Surprise Room. Loved all your wall photos of places we had been in Maine and other places. The photos of the bear and others in the “Buttonwood Slide Show” were great. We loved our “cozy room” and look forward to returning in the future with our adult children to stay in your other beautifully decorated rooms. Best of luck to you both.”– Portland, ME
