Before breakfast, our guests are offered an early coffee and tea service for early risers to enjoy in front of the fireplace in our living room or take back to their guest rooms. Later in the Dining Room, a full gourmet breakfast is served. All our foods are prepared with local New Hampshire products and we serve award-winning maple syrup purchased from Fullers Sugarhouse in Lancaster, NH. Note that most entrees can be modified for gluten-free, vegan, diabetic, or vegetarian diets.
Sample Breakfast Items:
Begin with either home-baked Pumpkin Walnut, Banana, Coconut, Lemon Poppy Seed, or Rhubarb Honey Ginger breads. Other starters may be Apricot Orange, Maple Oatmeal, or Golden Raisin Scones, Buttonwood Donut Muffins, Maple Cinnamon Rolls, Apple Pecan, Banana Walnut Crunch or Pumpkin Pie Spice Muffins, warm Fruit Crisp with Granola topping, or a cool fresh Fruit Salad with Raspberry sauce topping. Entrees can be sweet or savory. Savory entrees may include a Mushroom Sausage and Cheddar Cheese Strata, Baked Cheddar Cheese and Asparagus Omelet, Eggs Benedict on Maple Ham and Chive Biscuits topped with Cheddar Hollandaise Sauce, or Scrumptious Scramble with Goat Cheese and Chives along side Potato Cakes or Southwestern Hash. Sweet items may be our "lighter than air" Belgian Waggles, or Pancakes of several varieties like Lemon-Scented with Blueberries, Banana-Pecan, Apple-Cinnamon, Blackberry-Cornmeal, Light Oatmeal, or Whole Wheat with Strawberry Sauce.
While we don't serve dinner at the Inn, the Buttonwood Inn is conveniently located just a short drive from a variety of restaurants offering you a several choices from fine dining to pub food or BBQ. We have a list of dinner recommendations based on our personal experience. Our suggestions are based on consistently good food quality and service, an enjoyable atmosphere, and a variety of price ranges. We will gladly make a reservation for you if needed.
